Shalom School - Guinea-Bissau (West Africa)
The Shalom School’s program – “Give a Child a Future”, teaches 238 children from very poor backgrounds in the island of Bubaque. The school offers daily meals to the children and charges less than a €5 fee per month to cover general school expenses and food costs. Even charging so little, many families struggle to pay this fee. Because of the overwhelming poverty, most children go to school without breakfast and feeling hungry and families rely on the school to provide the main meal of the day for their children.
